Look at this cartoon as a complete outsider and tell me which guy is the jerk. The one that we see in the last frame or the guy who has been pretending to be a friend to this girl for the sole purpose of trying to get into her pants. Because if he had other motives besides friendship, he's a liar, a fraud and a guy who needs to learn how to meet women.
