From Bloom County, Milo's Thanksgiving day grace:
"Dear Lord, I've been asked, nay commanded, to thank Thee for the turkey before us. A turkey, which was no doubt a lively, intelligent bird. A social being, capable of actual affection. . . nuzzling its young with almost human-like compassion. Anyway, it's dead and we're gonna eat it. Please give our respects to its family."Chow down!
Ah, the immortal words of Milo Bloom. What a guy. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite T-Day cartoon (for which I searched in vain) is from Johnny Hart (B.C.). Thor (or somebody) is about to behead the nervous turkey while two other characters watch in horror. "C'mon," says Thor, "It's only a dumb bird." Then he asks the turkey if he has any last words. "E=MC squared," says the turkey.
